SMOKEY BOUILLON BOWLS WITH DARK HORSE ORGANIC

This recipe was created in collaboration with Dark Horse on behalf of Laka and aims to nourish the gut and satiate the body with the power of umami.

Tip* The key to good rice in the Laka kitchen is vinegar, oil, and pickle juice. Keep your rice from sticking together, preserve it so it can be left out, and add the perfect amount of sweetness. 

 

Laka lemon sticky rice*

3 cup white sticky rice, rinsed
2 tbsp each pickle juice, olive oil, vinegar
3 tbsp butter or ghee
1/2 tsp each dried garlic, lemon, black pepper

Cover rice, pickle juice, olive oil, and vinegar with 1 inch water, bring to boil then simmer until cooked.

Top with butter and dried herbs and toss.

Bouillon fennel, carrot, potato
6 medium carrots, slivered thin
5 baby red potatoes, diced
1 head fennel, slivered thin
6 cloves garlic, whole
3-4 tsp Dark Horse Organic Umami Bouillon
3 tbsp ghee

Heat garlic and ghee on medium-low for 1 minute. 
Add fennel, carrot, and potato and cook 3-5 minutes.
Add Dark Horse Organic Bouillon and cook another 3-5 minutes or until soft. 

 Smokey salad
3 cups mixed greens
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp Dark Horse Organic Smoked Salt
Juice of 1 lemon

Toss in a large bowl and revel in the simplicity of basic, smokey greens.
